Reveal Marketing Research: The energy efficiency of the house we live in helps us to have lower electricity bills
We are at an important time for discussions in the public space related to utility costs, particularly electricity and natural gas. External tensions also had effects on the internal level, with the increased inflation being felt in all dimensions of the commercial area.
In this context, Reveal Marketing Research conducted a nationwide study to find out how Romanians will cope with the rapid increases in home maintenance costs.
- 81% of Romanians evaluate a home by the costs of maintenance
- For 54% of Romanians, energy efficiency is a main attribute of the ideal home
- 83% of the respondents believe that the masonry materials chosen in the construction of the home favor maintaining heat in the home
The level of dissatisfaction with the cost of heating will reach a critical level
Only 31% of respondents say they were satisfied with the average value of their monthly heating bill last winter. We observe a marginally higher percentage in the case of Romanians who live in houses built from AAC (34%). With price increases expected for the coming winter, these numbers will drop even further, and we will face a general state of dissatisfaction and discomfort among energy consumers.
The maintenance costs of a home are important aspects in its evaluation
We already observe an extremely high level of concern regarding the costs of utilities, 69% of Romanians being concerned about the price of electricity, and 64% about the costs of natural gas, expenses for which there is a significant increase compared to the assessment made last year.
These expenses have come to be an important point in the evaluation of a home, so that after price (86%) and quality of building materials used (81%), maintenance costs (81%) are the third most important attribute when consumers appreciate the value of a home.
Increasing the energy efficiency of homes will be a priority for Romanians who want lower bills
Romanians want energy-efficient homes, 54% of them considering energy efficiency as one of the main attributes of the ideal home.
Energy efficiency is closely related to the quality of a home’s construction, as using materials and fixtures with a high efficiency score will reduce long-term maintenance costs, making it a wise investment. This aspect is also reflected in the perceptions of Romanians, 83% of whom consider that the masonry materials used in the construction of the home favor maintaining heat in the home.
And for investment in these materials to meet their goals, they must lower our costs in the long run. 75% of the respondents believe that innovation helps them to save, therefore they will choose innovative masonry materials, the purpose of which, through manufacturing, is to help them increase comfort and reduce costs in the home.
