Reveal Marketing Research Study: The New School Year. Parents’ Fears and Expectations About Starting Classes
Monday, September 13, 2021 is the second year in a row when the school starts in times of pandemic. In the study conducted by the research company Reveal Marketing Research, more than 1,009 respondents were consulted, of which 390 are parents with school children and high school students from all over the country, to see how they perceive the beginning of the school year, their fears and worries, but and how much they spent on clothes and school supplies.
On the occasion of the beginning of the new school year, 9 out of 10 children will come to school with new clothes and supplies, stuff for which Romanian parents have invested a 3-digit budget (200 lei – 500 lei), according to the study conducted by Reveal Marketing Research. Thus, 92% of parents say that they have purchased supplies for the new school year, while 84% of them say that they have bought clothes.
Also, the expenses for the new school year increase with the transition of children from one school year to another. If for a preschooler the total average budget amounts to over 600 lei, for a high school student the parents declare that they have spent even over 900 lei.
