Reveal Marketing Research and FERRO study: 61% of Romanians are interested in reducing water consumption
- 6 out of 10 Romanians interested in reducing their water consumption opt for a shower instead of a bath
- More than half of Romanians believe that they should reduce the volume of water used to wash dishes
Climate change is becoming more and more evident in modern society, bringing to the fore the need for sustainable consumption amid the threat of rapid depletion of the planet’s natural resources.
In this context, Reveal Marketing Research together with FERRO conducted a study on the perceptions of Romanians regarding the way they relate to water consumption in their households.
Romanians are interested in reducing water consumption, especially by choosing a shower instead of a bath
6 out of 10 Romanians are interested in reducing water consumption in their household, especially women (66%) and people over 55 (74%). In order to reduce water consumption, they regularly check their bathroom and kitchen faucets (59%), opt for showers instead of baths (58%) and turn off the tap between the washing stages (57%).
More than half of Romanians have checked their taps in the last 3 months, to ensure that there are no water leaks
52% of respondents said that they have taken measures in the last 3 months to ensure that there are no water leaks, which would raise the value of the bills, but especially would cause damage to the floor or household goods.
Romanians want to reduce the volume of water used in washing dishes and laundry
52% of Romanians believe that they should reduce water consumption for washing dishes, and 46% for washing clothes. On the other hand, only 3 out of 10 Romanians mention that they should consume less water for personal hygiene activities.
The use of appliances that help reduce water consumption is useful in the household
Checking and repairing taps and pipes are efficient and popular methods that help 85% of Romanians to reduce water consumption.
Also, 74% of Romanians consider that the use of equipment that reduces water consumption is a very useful activity.
Only 12% of Romanians have equipment that reduces water consumption, but 40% intend to purchase such equipment in the future
Although over 60% of Romanians are interested in reducing water consumption, only 12 percent say they currently have equipment that would help them in this endeavor. The main equipment in this regard are flow limiters, eco batteries or aerators.
